Citizen Diplomacy through Video Bridge over the Ocean
УModern Tendencies of Regional Development in the USA and in RussiaФ was the theme of a videoconference on October 3 between Yaroslavl and three locations in the US, including Boston. The conference was part of the Days of American Culture in Yaroslavl Festival. USRCCNE's Board President, Dan Satinsky organized three speakers from Boston: Tito Jackson, Boston City Councilor; Bing Broderick, Business and Marketing Director of Haley House and Curtis Henderson, General Manager of Boston Neighborhood Network. For the Boston participants the videoconference was a follow-up to a visit by a Yaroslavl delegation in May.
The conference was organized in Yaroslavl by the Spectr Institute of Business and the Russian-American Friendship Society of Yaroslavl. It was supported by the Yaroslavl City Administration. The US Embassy in Moscow sent a delegation that included Jeffrey Sexton, Minister-Counselor for Culture & Media and Howard Solomon, Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs. The speakers from the US were projected onto a large screen in Yaroslavl for an audience of around 70 people.
