USRCCNE Hosts Dr. Alexander Galitsky

On Monday, January 9th, the US-Russia Chamber of Commerce of New England in conjunction with UFG Asset Management and the Harvard Club of Boston had the pleasure of hosting a breakfast presentation by a well-known international technology innovator, entrepreneur and investor, co‐founder and managing partner of Almaz Capital Partners, Dr. Alexander Galitsky, PhD. Over eighty members and guests attended this event.

Before a full audience, Dr. Galitsky shared his views on the prospects for growth and cross-border collaboration in Russia’s rapidly expanding technology sector. He gave an overview of the current state of entrepreneurship in Russia and shared his own investment experiences with successful companies like Qik and Yandex.

In his address, Dr. Galitsky talked about the Skolkovo Project, Russia’s first global scale research and development initiative supported by the Russian government. Dr Galitsky is a board member of the Skolkovo Foundation. He described the steps taken by the Russian government to encourage strong cooperation between the local and western VC communities and promote innovation and modernization.

Members and friends of the Chamber participated in the discussion during the post-presentation Q&A session, followed by a brief networking opportunity.

On behalf of the USRCCNE and UFG Asset Management we would like to thank all our guests for attending the event.  Mr. Galitsky’s presentation and full biography is available upon request.
