Wanted: Project Manager


SFT Group, a holding company which owns three paper & pulp / carton mills which process and produce a variety of materials related to the paper and carton industry, is looking for an expatriate Project Manager.  This is partially in connection with their plans to hold an IPO, ideally by 2015.   The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • selecting and buying used equipment for the launch of a line of testliner and fluting
  • figuring out how to accurately and correctly install equipment for the launch of new production
  • figuring out, if necessary, how best to house new equipment in new facilities which will be built
  • after production is launched, assessing and correcting problems that were unable to be foreseen before start of production

The factory, called the Kamensky Paper & Carton Plant, is around 207 years old, and  is located near the Russian city of Tver, about a four-hour drive from Moscow.  Most of the equipment in the factory is at least 30 years old.  The successful candidate will:

  • Need to relocate to Russia for 2-3 years
  • Be willing to make a difference in a country where his or her skills and experience will be truly appreciated
  • Interact with the factory’s and holding company’s management, who are very forward-thinking and “oriented towards the West”
  • Be experienced in production modernization in this industry
  • Be experienced in project management with a budget of at least 10 million USD
  • Be experienced in placing and installing equipment in newly-built facilities (not necessary, but preferred)

A knowledge of Russian is NOT required.  The successful candidate will be provided with a commensurate salary, apartment, car/driver, interpreter, and other negotiable perks.
