Looking for Financing from a Most Unlikely Source: The Russian Stock Market
The Russian economy has led the world in economic growth for the last two years, and Russian GDP has posted healthy gains for the last five years. Since the election of Vladimir Putin, the Russian market has become more ordered and predictable, and less subject to the vagaries of old style behind-the-scenes influences of oligarchs and other powerful interests, not necessarily friendly to ordinary shareholders. Are Russian companies jumping on the "transparency" bandwagon? Certainly some are. Those that do can look to be rewarded by easier access to financing.
