W Hotel, Washington, DC
Join USRBC for a special luncheon with Ksenia Yudaeva, First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Russia (CBR), this Friday, April 17 at the W Hotel in Washington, DC. Registration of participants starts at 12:30pm and the program will start promptly at 1:00pm. Russia's Central Bank has taken on increasing importance over the last year as sanctions, the economic slowdown and the fall in oil prices have weakened Russia's ruble, accelerated inflation and placed the country's financial system under stress. The Bank has had to undertake difficult policy decisions in its efforts to fight inflation while also supporting economic growth in the country. Dr. Yudaeva, who will be in Washington for the World Bank/IMF annual meetings, will provide some insight into the CBR's decision-making process in the midst of the current economic and financial crisis and discuss the outlook for the Russian banking system and the economy as a whole.
Ksenia Valentinovna Yudaeva has served as a First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Russia since September 2013, responsible for macroeconomic forecasting and research. Dr. Yudaeva came to the Bank after serving as Chief of the RF Presidential Experts' Directorate and as Russia's Sherpa to the G20 during the Russian presidency. Prior to her government service, Dr. Yudaeva was Chief Economist and Director of the Center for Macroeconomic Research at Sberbank, from 2008 to 2012. Dr. Yudaeva earned a degree in Economics and Mathematics from the Moscow State University, a Master's degree in Economics from the New Economic School and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
