10:00 – 10:45amTigers: Presentation by Zoo New England
Tigers, like many big cats around the world, elicit a special reaction from people. We simultaneously love and fear them, hunt them and work to save them. In this engaging talk, an educator from Zoo New England will talk about the tiger's place in culture, ecology and conservation. Visit the exhibition to see an Amur (Siberian) tiger specimen on loan from the EcoTarium in Worcester.
1:00 – 1:45pmBabushka's Way
Massachusetts-based Russian folk club Ivolga ("Oriole") is a group of Russian-speaking adults and children studying Russian folk traditions, crafts and singing styles. The group will share their knowledge of old holiday rituals and songs, talk about the ways Russian children lived, played, and dressed in the old days, and will engage the audience in some traditional games.

Babushka's Way is cosponsored by the New England Chapter of Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption (FRUA). Families with children adopted from Russia, Ukraine, and neighboring countries are encouraged to attend, to meet New England Chapter families and to learn about FRUA, a national parent-to-parent network offering hope, help and community for families with children adopted from Eastern Europe.

Seating is limited for both presentations and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
