"Russia's Path to Diversification in the Midst of the Economic Crisis" - a breakfast meeting with Anatoly Chubais, former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Current CEO of RUSNANO, Russia's state-owned nanotechnology corporation.
Mr. Chubais will be introduced by USRBC Board Member and U.S.-Russia Foundation Co-Chair Ambassador James Collins, Director of the Russia and Eurasia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and former U.S. Ambassador to Russia.
The USRBC, in cooperation with the San Francisco World Affairs Council and the San Francisco Global Trade Council, will host a business community breakfast with Anatoly Chubais, a high-profile figure in Russia's business and political spheres, and currently the CEO and Director General of Russia's state-owned nanotechnology corporation. Mr. Chubais previously served as Chairman of Russia's state-owned electric power monopoly, Unified Energy Systems (UES). Earlier, Mr. Chubais played a key role in the privatization of state properties in the Cabinet of Boris Yeltsin. Mr. Chubais will talk about RUSNANO, its goals and its interest in cooperative efforts, and he will be pleased to engage in a discussion with breakfast participants about Russia's economy today and the impact the crisis is having on Russian industry more broadly. Mr. Chubais currently serves on J.P. Morgan Chase's International Council, which advises the firm's senior management on global business issues.
